CPCA Hits the Road: Celebrating National Health Center Week 2026

This August, CPCA staff traded their desks for the open road to celebrate National Health Center Week (NHCW), fully embracing this year's theme, Building Innovative Care Where It Matters Most. Across six days, 38 CPCA staff members fanned out across California to visit 28 member health centers from Mendocino Coast and Round Mountain in the north to San Diego and Imperial in the south. It was our biggest and busiest NHCW yet, and we could not be more grateful for the warm welcome we received at every stop.

This year's participation reflects a program that keeps growing alongside our members' generosity in hosting us. CPCA's NHCW site visits have expanded from 17 visits in 2023 to 28 visits in 2026, about 18 percent of our total membership. Whether it was a full tour, a meet-and-greet with front-line staff, or a chance to participate in a NHCW celebration, each visit gave CPCA staff a firsthand look at the innovative programs and services that make your organization unique.

More than anything, NHCW is a chance for CPCA to say thank you. Thank you to the leadership and staff at every health center who opened your doors, rearranged your schedules, and took the time to share your stories with us. Thank you for the tours, the introductions, and the honest conversations about the challenges and triumphs of delivering care in your communities. Our staff came home with countless photos, notes, and memories. More importantly, they came back with a renewed sense of why this work matters and a deeper appreciation for the people doing it every day.

To every member health center that hosted a CPCA visit this year: we see you, we celebrate you, and we are proud to stand alongside you. Here's to another year of building innovative care where it matters most.
