As the Medi-Cal Health Navigator Project came to a close, community health centers and consortia were asked to reflect on their experience. Participating organizations remarked on the persistence and adaptability needed to navigate complex Medi-Cal systems, and how the project’s support and guidance proved helpful in overcoming enrollment and retention barriers.

Participants described their experience as both challenging and impactful given changing federal and state policies and shared that they felt empowered to expand their reach and serve their communities. For many, the journey was transformative and reaffirmed their shared mission to uplift those most in need.

CPCA is committed to carrying forward the lessons learned and promising practices from this initiative. These insights will inform future grant opportunities, outreach strategies, and enrollment training and technical assistance, ensuring that our members continue to thrive and communities across California remain supported.

The Navigator Project stands as a testament to what can be achieved when dedication, collaboration, and innovation come together to strengthen the health care safety net.
