Supporting a Strong Workforce Through Joint Accreditation

CPCA is celebrating an exciting milestone: our first full year as a Jointly Accredited Provider of continuing education. This achievement reflects a powerful commitment to building stronger, more skilled care teams across California’s health centers.

Elevating Team-Based Learning

CPCA is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. This means CPCA can offer education that brings clinicians together, strengthens communication, and supports the kind of coordinated care patients deserve.

To better meet heath center needs, CPCA also expanded accreditation to include dentistry (ADA CERP) and behavioral health (ASWB ACE and APA). These additions were driven by CHC feedback and evaluation data showing a clear need for more continuing education (CE) opportunities in these fields as health centers continue to grow integrated, team‑based care models.

What This Means for Your Workforce

Joint Accreditation ensures that every CPCA learning opportunity is:

  • Free from commercial bias

  • Designed with direct input from the professionals it serves

  • Evaluated for real impact on knowledge, skills, and practice

You may have noticed more pre‑tests, post‑tests, and evaluations at recent CPCA events. These help us measure learning outcomes and ensure our programs truly strengthen your teams. Your feedback directly shapes future offerings, and we’re grateful for your partnership.

Expanding Access

As a jointly accredited organization, CPCA can also partner with other eligible organizations to provide CE credit for their trainings and events. If your team is hosting or attending a program that should offer CE, reach out to training@cpca.org to explore collaboration opportunities.

Guided by the Team, for the Team

A core principle of joint accreditation is that education should be created with the healthcare team, not just for it. CPCA’s Interprofessional Education Advisory Group (IPEAG) plays a vital role in identifying practice gaps, shaping content, and ensuring our programs reflect real-world needs. We extend our sincere thanks to these members for their expertise and leadership.
